Lister-Petter Tyndale 2000 Rally Report

I believe I can safely say the weekend was a resounding success! The weather was extremely kind, with a clear sky and temperatures in the mid 80's F, but with a cooling wind. Out of the original 20 entered, 18 trucks attended, 3 failed to appear offset by an additional SS3. Trevor's LD1 truck attracted much attention, including an interview on Radio Gloucester and a good luck autograph by Fred Dibnah. The hot weather took it's toll on the petrol trucks some of which failed to make it round the display ring. An LD2 truck came to the rescue and performed heavy recovery on several occasions.

Following increasing popularity of Auto-Truck preservation, an informal discussion took place on Saturday evening, regarding the possible formation of an official club/register . The majority favored keeping things informal, but to continue to enhance this WEB site. It is planned  to include an assistance service, whereby volunteers with particular knowledge would assist owners in their area. A nominee will redirect Email received on the site to the appropriate person. The existing 'Truck It' register/news letter will be retained, to cover people without internet access. An assistance newsgroup is also a possibility. More information will be posted as things develop.
