I am glad the spirit of driving oddball vehicles is not dead. I am into Bubblecars but sadly less and less are used even on show fields. My interest is temporary as I have just sold a factory found petrol engined flatbed to a chap who wants information. Well he's got it know so hopefully he will join the fold. Great site. Big Al

Hi. What a cracking site! I had a trawl around the Internet tonight as I was looking for a picture to show some friends. I managed to start up an LD1 autotruck today - it's been standing for nearly a year under poor conditions and we thought that it had seized but a few hefty efforts with the starting handle and Easy Start got it ticking over nicely. This one used to be a tar sprayer and is now a short wheelbase model following some radical surgery with a gas axe! I have fond memories of driving an LD2 Autotruck around a foundry in the early seventies. We had two of them and a Lansing Bagnall electric pallet truck. We used to race the diesels around the perimeter road until I nearly tipped mine after hitting a brick with one of the outrigger wheels. Back in the eighties I saw another Lister in Dover with a

Your site brought back a lot of memories for me...Dad worked at Thomas Smith's (spanners) and used a Lister to take steel bars to be drop-forged, we lived next door to the company and when he worked weekends I was allowed to ride on the tray.. (workers comp. would have a heart attack at the thought of it nowadays!)
