[Despatch Document]

56415 was supplied new to J.E. Howard of Newport,Monmouthshire. The truck was acquired by a South Wales enthusiast in the mid 1980s to form the basis of a narrow gauge railway locomotive. A new chassis was constructed, a pair of wheel sets were acquired from a Hudson skip and the loco was completed by 1985. The loco was used on the private Little West Narrow Gauge Garden Railway in South Wales. In 1987 the loco was rebuilt to more closely resemble a Lister Railtruck and named Little Owl, as a bird of that species used to regularly sit on the engine looking around for his breakfast!

'Little Owl' following 1987 rebuild

I acquired 56415's chassis to fit in the front from NU9G 44425. I later performed a double swap and fitted the front end in another chassis replacing it more appropriate LD2 front end 554948 previously fitted in 5050.
